Putin: Labor efficiency must rise 5%, inflation fall below 4%
MOSCOW, Dec 4 (PRIME) -- Russia’s economy must escape a “zero growth” zone and expand quicker, above the world’s average, with the help of a labor efficiency growth of 5% a year and inflation below 4%, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday in a state of the nation speech.
“We must target an annual labor efficiency growth of no less than 5%,” Putin said and demanded the government keep macroeconomic stability by reining in inflation to below 4%.
This all must be done without “suppressing business activities”.
“We must at last learn to keep reining in inflation and stimulating economic activity in harmony,” he said.
